Where can I get the "Cupcake Bible?"
My "Cupcake Bible" is the book "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World." You can find it on Amazon here but I have seen it in plenty of bookstores. They also have cookbooks for cookies and pies...but I have yet to venture outside of cupcakes.
How do you make your frosting?
This is my most commonly asked question. I use vegan butter (earth balance), powdered sugar, almond milk, and vanilla. The recipe in the book I use calls for vegan shortening as well, but I find that I prefer frosting without it. I generally start with a stick of butter, a teaspoon of vanilla, and add quantities of the other ingredients until I get the consistency that I am looking for.
What do you use instead of _______ to make your cupcakes vegan?
I don't actually know what a non-vegan cupcake recipe looks like. I just know how to make vegan cupcakes and that everybody tells me that if I hadn't told them they were vegan, they wouldn't have known.
Why don't you post cupcake recipes?
Most of the recipes I use are not mine. They are from the cookbook Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World. There are a couple cupcakes that I have made that are my own ideas that I've modified from the recipes in that book, and I'll include the instructions for my modifications. If I ever come up with my own recipes, I'll be sure to post them.
When are you opening a cupcake shop???
